Be quiet going in

Use a leaf blower or rake to clear a path to your stand so your approach will be a quiet one.

Access is everything. Being able to get to your stand is critical when hunting big bucks.

Never approach a stand from the front, instead use the “J” approach, come in from the back and hook into the stand; this will provide the best opportunity to get into your area without spooking deer.

Another method is to “Come in the back door”. Clean out your access trails; using a rake or blower to get down to the bare dirt will make your approach silent. Using a blower or rake to remove everything that can alert deer to your presence is critical to getting into your stand quietly. While to some it may seem excessive, the benefits are well worth it.
