Carter William Kluttz, age 12, is growing into being a fine young turkey hunter. On April 3, 2023 during the NC Youth Season, after a couple days of working different birds with his dad, Carter earned a front row seat to the show we all love to see each spring and killed a nice double-bearded gobbler.
A few soft yelps and purrs brought this Tom in on a string to 35 yards. Carter passed on two Jakes earlier and held his composure like a champ to let this Tom get well within range. One shot from his 20-gauge and you couldn’t wipe the smile off of his face if you wanted to! This is Carter’s second gobbler after getting his first one last turkey season. To say he’s hooked would be an understatement! One proud Dad and one proud youth turkey hunter here in Central NC! 🦃
