North Carolina 2014 turkey season details

Young hunters like Sarah Johnson, who took this bird with her father, Mitchell, get a 6-day season of their own before North Carolina’s month-long spring season comes in.

North Carolina’s statewide spring gobbler season runs from April 12 to May 14. The daily bag limit is one bearded bird, with a season bag limit of two.

A 6-day youth-only turkey season runs from April 5-11. Youths must be less than 16 years old and must be accompanied by a properly licensed adult at least 21 years old. An adult may accompany more than one youth on a particular hunt, and the adult may not harvest a turkey.

Each youth must have a Big Game Harvest Report Card and report harvests according to instructions in the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission’s regulation’s digest.
