NCWRC seeking skulls from hunters and trappers

The NCWRC has charged more than 25 Richmond County hunters with hundreds of violations.

Donations are part of furbearer cooperator program.

The NCWRC is asking hunters and trappers to donate bobcat and otter skulls or jaws, as well as the carcasses of bobcats, coyotes, foxes, minks, muskrats, opposum, racoons, spotted and striped skunks, and weasels as part of North Carolina’s furbearer cooperator program.

The skulls, jaws and carcasses will be used to help monitor populations, improve knowlege of the state’s furbearers, and ultimately maintain regulated trapping for future generations.

When making these donations, hunters may skin the carcasses first.
