Youngsters between 10 and 16 eligible for clinic at hunt club near Columbia
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources is offering students between 10 and 16 a great opportunity to attend a deer-hunting clinic on Nov. 11 at a hunt club in the Columbia area.
The clinic, which will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., will introduce students to game care and prep, wildlife tracking, the rifle range and how to stay legal while hunting. The first 10 students who contact Jessica Gibson at gibsonj@dnr.sc.gov will be able to attend. SCDNR will confirm your attendance by email with further instructions. Only by confirmation may you attend so respond quickly for a slot.
Lunch will be provided at the event, and parents/guardians are welcome to stay while their students participate.
SCDNR’s Take One Make One program is designed to teach safe hunting practices to students who have no previous outdoor hunting experience. TOMO emphasizes teaching safe and ethical hunting, the conservation and responsible use of our natural resources and character education and provides a specific mechanism for students to learn about safe and ethical hunting through first-time youth hunts.
