Carolyn Shipman won the 2021-22 Bag-A-Buck contest

Congratulations to Carolyn Painter Shipman from Sumter, S.C. for winning the Carolina Sportsman Bag-A-Buck Grand Prize for the 2021-22 deer hunting season.

Shipman killed the 12-point buck on Sept. 20 in Sumter County. The deer weighed 211 pounds and was green-scored at 137 4/8.

As the grand prize winner, Shipman was awarded a 2-day deer/hog hunt combo for two hunters at Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge in Chesterfield County, S.C. along with a 3-year subscription to Carolina Sportsman Magazine, a Millennium M25 tree stand, and a package of Carolina Sportsman merchandise.

Our annual contest gallery has become one of the most-viewed sections of our website. It also draws plenty of entrants from our readers.

During the 2021-22  deer hunting season, we had a total of 274 entries in our Bag-A-Buck gallery. This included 17 entrants from August (SC’s season opens Aug 15), 26 in September, 41 in October, 114 in November, 71 in December, and five in January
