Shane Godfrey of Sanford, NC killed a 10-point buck in Lee County, NC on Oct. 6, 2026.
He shot the buck with a Bow during a morning hunt while sitting on the ground from 25 yards away.
Godfrey summed up the hunt with these words:
“It was a quiet morning sitting on the ground beside a big oak tree as the sun was coming up there was a big buck standing on the ridge as I was unable to get a shot as it walked off I thought my hunt was over, 20 mins later I let out to soft grunts 5 mins went by and I saw horns coming from the creek I noticed it was the big 10 point as it started to come my way it stopped and feed on some acorns about 25 yards away and presented me with a broadside shot the arrow was released clean shot. The buck green scored 146.”
Godfrey is now entered in our Bag-A-Buck Contest, and is eligible to win our monthly prize pack, which includes a set of Ultimate Eyes & Ears Combo from ShellShock Pro, a YETI Rambler bottle, a prize package from Buck Commander and Duck Commander, and a Carolina Sportsman hat, as well as our Grand Prize, a 2-day hunt for two to Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge in Chesterfield County, SC.
