Scoring for the 2010 Dixie Deer Classic class awards wrapped up today (March 5), although official results won’t be announced until tomorrow. However, the walls of the scoring booth are filled with amazing animals.
The unofficial class winners are:
• Best youth gun – Trey Golden, 148
• Best North Carolina non-typical gun – Mark Ware, 168 5/8
• Best North Carolina female gun – Mary Preddy, 142 7/8
• Best Virginia typical muzzleloader buck – Michael Brown’s, 166 5/8
• Best Virginia buck – Delaine Bibb, 164
• North Carolina typical gun – David Boroughs, 162
• North Carolina typical bow – Andrew Ekerman, 166 5/8
• North Carolina youth muzzleloader – Ashley Honeycutt, 160 2/8
• North Carolina female muzzleloader – Linda Draheim, 136 5/8
• Physically challenged – Michael Helbert, 167 6/8
• North Carolina non-typical bow – David Schnack, 161 3/8
• Best non-hunt – Travis Manuel, 147 6/8
Results will be made official tomorrow during the final day of the Dixie Deer Classic. Full official scores will be announced on www.NorthCarolinaSportsman.com, but many of the photos of the winners already are on the Web site’s special Dixie Deer Classic photo gallery.

The Dixie Deer Classic continues tomorrow, with the gates opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 5 p.m. Admission is only $10, and includes access to dozens of exhibitors and the official scoring area.
