Several categories have new leaders at Big Rock

The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament saw some leaderboard changes after Day 3. One place that did not see a change was in the Heaviest Marlin category. NATURAL still leads there, with their 521.6-pound blue marlin they caught on Day 2.

No boats weighed a blue marlin on Day 3.

The Billfish Release category has a new leader. BILL COLLECTOR jumped to the top spot with 800 total release points. OUTLIER, the leader since Day 1, is now in second place with 650 points. STARFLITE is in third with 525 points.

In the Heaviest Wahoo category, REEL QUICK vaulted to the top with their Day 3 catch, a 66.1-pound wahoo. That big catch unseated CATHERINE GRACE as the leader, pushing them to second place.

The Heaviest Tuna category still has only one entrant. BILL COLLECTOR’s 52.3 pounder from Day 1 still sits atop this division.

LOW PROFILE still sits atop the Heaviest Dolphin category with the 41.4 pound mahi mahi they caught on Day 1.

WASTE KNOT took the Day 3 First Release prize, collecting $5000 for the feat.

A total of 15 billfish were released on the third day of the event. The fleet tallied seven blue marlin releases, seven white marlin releases, and one sailfish release.

Lines go in at 9 a.m. Thursday morning for Day 4 of the Big Rock. Click here for updates throughout the day.
