Catch redfin pickerel by the bucketful

Cut a hole in the lid of a bucket, affix a plastic door, and you’ve got a perfect container for redfin pickerel.

The best way to keep and carry redfin pickerel is in a plastic pail with a tight-fitting lid.

To prevent the highly animated fish from jumping out, the angler should cut a hole in the lid and use a larger piece of plastic as a door. Bolting it at one place allows it to rotate to open and closed. By adding a cabinet knob, an angler can open or close the door with one hand. If the bucket tips over, the fish stay inside and do not slither down the bank and back into the water.
