Ahyler Derrick of Leesville, SC killed a 9-point buck in Lexington County, SC on Aug. 26, 2026.
He shot the buck with a 6.5 Creedmoor during a morning hunt while sitting on the ground from 50 yards away.
Ahyler had been patterning the 9 point buck. After talking with his grandpa about cleaning the buck, his parents gave him permission to go before school. The stars aligned and Ahyler made it happen and was on time for school. The 9-point buck had a 20-inch spread and weighed 200 pounds.
