New Dates are October 3 & 4
Due to a forecast Gale Force Nor’easter settling in over the coastal regions of South Carolina and Georgia during the preceding days of the event and the likelihood of continued dangerous sea conditions extending in to the weekend along with a looming threat of approaching Tropical Storm conditions the Savannah Saltwater Classic has been CANCELED for 2008.
The event had already been re-scheduled twice. The first reschedule was primarily due to site conflicts and planning issues. As it turned out the first date would not have been fish-able due to a Tropical Storm Cristobal passing Savannah during those dates. The second rescheduled date was blown out due to Tropical Storm Fay weather influence.
Due to site limitations, volunteer conflicts and planned upcoming major city events simply rolling this event to the next day, next week or the week after was not possible. Bluewater Promotions regrets any inconvenience this has caused to our anglers, sponsors, vendors and volunteers.
In keeping with standard Bluewater Promotions policy, a full refund will be provided to anyone entered in the Savannah tournament no questions asked. A replacement SKA sanctioned Division 3 tournament has already been scheduled for Sullivans Island on October 3 and 4 and will benefit the Sullivans Island Volunteer Fire Department. Any teams with paid entries for Savannah may apply that entry to the Sullivans Island event.
Safety is the first concern with Bluewater Promotions. Mother Nature rules our sport and unfortunately has final word on tournament operations regardless of our best planning efforts.
Additional information will be posted on the Bluewater Promotions website, www.bluewaterpromo.com, throughout the next few days as the new event details are finalized.
