Evinrude introduces new 135-hp outboard in E-Tec line

Evinrude's 135-HP E-Tec is a perfect engine for shallow-draft hulls.

Dealers will be able to take orders in January

On Nov. 27, Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) introduced the newest horsepower model available in the Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine line-up, the 135 HO. BRP dealers have been authorized to accept orders with delivery beginning in January 2013.

Featuring a lightweight design at 418 pounds and more low-end torque than competitive 150 HP 4-stroke outboards, the Evinrude E-TEC 135 HO is tailor made for flats boats, bay boats and other hulls where the shallower draft of lighter weight and superior bottom-end power are required. It is also well-suited for any application where a superior power-to-weight ratio is a benefit.

The Evinrude E-TEC 135 HO is a V-6 engine with 2.6 liters of displacement. A high-output alternator is standard to provide more than enough power to run all of a boat’s electronics and accessories and still maintain a full battery charge to insure immediate starting. While delivering better fuel economy at various engine speeds than competitive 4-stroke outboards and delivering the maximum horsepower for the model range, the E-TEC 135 HO also maintains a 3-Star CARB clean emissions rating from the EPA.

BRP includes a 3-year, non-declining warranty with each E-TEC 135 HO, and there is no dealer maintenance scheduled for the first three years or 300 hours.  The E-TEC 135 HO is available in 20- or 25-inch shafts in blue and white.  Counter-rotation is only available in white, 25-inch shaft models.
