Walmart Bass Fishing League comes to High Rock Lake

Area anglers will be looking to win the bass fishing tournament and advance to a regional championship.

Piedmont Division Event set for June 11

The Walmart Bass Fishing League is headed to High Rock Lake June 11 for the fourth of five fishing tournaments in the Piedmont Division. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be fishing for top awards up to $9,500 and $3,000, respectively.

The last time FLW Outdoors held an event on High Rock Lake was the BFL event on May 22, 2010, where boater Eric Rothrock claimed victory with more than 23 pounds after enduring tough conditions of wind and rain.

Takeoffs and weigh-ins will be at Tamarac Marina & Campground located at 9120 Bringle Ferry Rd. in Salisbury, N.C. Takeoff is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. while weigh-in will begin at 2:30 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the EverStart Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
