Does have left their secluded private areas and have started to gather in groups of eight, nine, thirteen and seventeen on dwindling food sources as the summer grasses give way to rotting mast crops. Does are gathering in the last known healthy green grass and fields as the growth of greens slowly declines as temperatures cool. This move signifies greater numbers of deer sightings per hunt as more deer travel and bed near winter food sources. Look for these large gatherings of does to find that buck looking for that last doe in heat. The Upstate of South Carolina is in a movement shift right now and if you can find a large group of does on a food source you can find a winter hotspot.
