The Favor – Jared Troublefield’s trophy buck

Jared Troublefield took this deer on the Pee Dee Refuge on November 12th.
I waited on the rain to ease up with high expectation. There was no history with this deer, as I was on public land. I didn’t have time to do any scouting before the hunt began because we had special church services the week of the hunt. This is the second year in a row I have received a big deer with hardly any effort. I eased in the woods about 2 o’clock got settled in, I had just got off the phone with my wife and was reading the Bible when something told me to look up. I saw something move in the sapling thicket just in front of me. There he stood at 40 yards. I do not know where the buck came from, he just appeared. I took the shot and he piled up at 30 yards. All I can say is, when you get right with the Lord, He will pour blessings out! Green scored at 137 1/2
