Nice 10 Point!

It was a sunset hunt after the three days of heavy rain, rushed to get in the stand after school and then work. Got there not expecting much but ended up seeing the biggest buck I have ever seen! Was shaking like a leaf, and he was on a pile from another stand I have, so it was maybe 200+ yards. And I don’t usually practice from that distance, shaky and unsure of the distance I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity! So I took the shot holding a smidge higher in the scope than I’m used to, took the shot, he jumped and moved about 10 yards, and then stopped. So I assumed I missed. I was about to take a second shot and he just fell! By this time it was getting dark, and it was in a cut corn field, and the brush was about a foot and a half tall, so I couldn’t find him! Went and got my side by side and was driving the field in rows, and then because of all of the rain, got the side by side stuck in the mud!! Walked back to the house and got the 4 wheeler, and about an hour later ended up finding him! Then tried to get the side by side unstuck, but I couldn’t. So my dad ended up getting it out the next day with the tractor. All in all, it was an awesome day full of ups and downs!
