18pt Massive Scotland Co. Brute Goes Down

I had this deer on camera for past 2 years and passed him up in late December 2024 to see what he would become in 2025. During bow season I had him at 30 yards 4 different times an could never get a clean shot on him. Then on the morning October 22 exactly one month after my dad passed away unexpectedly, something was just telling me to hunt his stand and that’s where I went. I got in about 630am an hadn’t heard a sound in the woods yet an my daughter text me OMG and sent me the trail cam pic!!! I was half asleep and at 705am I saw her text come through an I immediately looked at the cornpile and didn’t see anything an I thought this joker done slipped by me again! So I picked my rifle up and placed on the shooting rail and looked through the scope an all I saw was horns bobbing around in the cornpile and definitely knew it was him. So, I eased my crosshair over behind his shoulder and squeezed the trigger. He bolted of the shooting lane. I, then went home to get my Boxers Brutus, Ben and Chocolate Lab Nestle to help me out. On the way back, I called my cousin Trey Edge to help as well. When we got there Brutus knew what time it was and was ready. He ran straight to him 40 yards off the lane in which I had shot the buck. I have truly been blessed to kill some nice bucks in my day but never anything of this caliber!
