Women’s Retreat will be held in South Carolina’s Upstate

The South Carolina Wildlife Federation, in cooperation with Comporium and the SCDNR, is hosting the Palmetto Outdoors Women’s Retreat at the Clemson Outdoor Lab at Lake Hartwell in Pendleton, SC April 25-27, 2025. The event is designed for women to experience nature and outdoor recreation with other women in a non-competitive environment.

A total of 19 classes are available for participants, who have the chance to select up to eight classes to take during the event. Those classes include:

  2. Backyard Wildlife Habitat
  3. Birding
  4. Canoeing
  5. Fire Building
  6. Fishing Basics
  7. Fly Fishing
  8. Hunting Basics
  9. Kayaking
  10. Land Navigation: Staying Found
  11. Nature Crafts
  12. Nature Hike
  13. Nature Spa
  14. Outdoor Cooking
  15. Outdoor Photography
  16. Outdoor Yoga
  17. Rifle Basics
  18. SASS Self Defense for Women
  19. Shotgun Basics

The Clemson Outdoor Lab is located at 425 Charlie White Trail, Pendleton, SC 29670. The Retreat is open to females age 16 and older. Girls 16-18 may attend, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The cost for the event is $375, which covers the retreat, lodging, meals and a t-shirt. Check-in will take place at noon on Friday the 25th, and the first class begins at noon.
