‘Shortcake69’ wins SouthCarolinaSportsman.com turkey photo contest, ‘Smokin Fast Eddie’ wins top vid

Ben Camarena narrowly won the SouthCarolina.com turkey photo contest with 44 percent of the votes cast.

Ben Camarena and James Scruggs were named the winners of the 2010 SouthCarolinaSportsman.com turkey photo and video contest, which ended last Thursday (May 27).

Both SouthCarolinaSportsman.com users will win Sportsman gear/Primos Hunting Calls prize packs.

Clover’s Camarena, who goes by “Shortcake69” on the site, beat out 13 other entrants in the photo category with a photo titled “Youth Day Hunt – Ben’s First Turkey.” Camarena tallied 44 votes, which equated to 45 percent of the votes.

Close behind Camarena was photo of another youngster submitted by Lexington’s Bruce Compton (known as “Southern Pines”) titled “Next Generation.” Compton’s image received 40 votes or 41 percent of the total.

On the video side, Virginia’s Scruggs  or “Smokin Fast Eddie” entered “Golfball head takes it hard” and received 28 views to win that category. His total comprises 68 percent of the votes cast, which was based on the number of views each video received.

In second was Iowa’s Scott Pack (a.k.a. “spacman1”) with a video titled “South Dakota Merriam,” which received 13 votes.
