Tired of coyotes? SCDNR will hold seminar on trapping, management

SCDNR is holding a seminar on coyote trapping and management in Greenwood on May 26.

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources, in conjunction with the South Carolina Trappers Association and Clemson Extension, will hold a workshop on coyote trapping and management in Greenwood on May 26.

The workshop, to be held at Northwest Volunteer Fire Dept., will begin at 5 p.m. and end at about 9 p.m. Previous trapping experience is not required, but everyone attending will be expected to set traps and participate with the group, hot or cold, rain or shine.

This is an extended hands-on trapping workshop for individuals who want to learn to manage coyotes, and will involve extensive outdoor participation. This workshop will cover such topics as equipment selection, trap modifications, trap preparation, trap site selection, set making, running a trap line and trapping safety.
