Clark’s Avery County buck netted a whopping 203 inches

Vincent Clark of Newland, N.C. won the Best in Show award at the 2022 Dixie Deer Classic held March 4-6 at the N.C. State Fairgrounds. His 23-point Avery County buck netted 203 0/8 inches.

Clark killed the deer on Dec. 7, 2021 with a 7mm Mag around 5 p.m. while hunting out of a box blind on the ground. He had a spotty history with the buck, seeing only trail cam photos of it a few times. He had also found an antler shed from the buck 2 years before.

Clark also won the Best Male Gun Non-typical category for the same deer. Click here for the full story on Clark’s hunt for the big buck, and stay tuned for further results from the 2022 Dixie Deer Classic.
