According to the Anderson County (SC) Coroner’s Office, 43-year-old Michael Rogers died while hunting with his son on Thanksgiving Day.
Rogers fell about 18 feet from a tree stand, and his 11-year-old son performed CPR while waiting for medical personnel to arrive.
Officials said Rogers had recently been sick, and stated that an underlying medical condition may have caused him to fall from the tree stand.
The coroner said Rogers suffered a neck injury during the fall, which ultimately resulted in his death.
