‘dharper0413’ killed this great 7-point buck on Dec. 3. It won the December Bag-A-Buck contest.

‘dharper0413’ wins last monthly contest

NorthCarolinaSportsman.com user “dharper0413” wasted little time entering the magazine’s Bag-A-Buck contest presented by Leupold and Barnes Precision Machinery after he killed the first buck of his hunting career on Dec. 3.

On New Year’s Day, he got a second dose of good luck when his entry was drawn as the winner of the December contest. “dharper0413” will receive a $25 gift certificate to the Sportsman Outdoor Store and a year’s subscription to North Carolina Sportsman.

He and all other hunters who entered the contest, which ended Jan. 1, remain eligible for the grand prize package: a Leupold optics package (scope, binoculars and rangefinder) and a .223 Designated Marksman Rifle from Barnes Precision Machinery.  It will be presented at the Dixie Deer Classic in Raleigh this March. “I just really got ‘into’ hunting this year and what a great way to start my hunting adventures,” dharper0413 wrote in his entry. “I got a good look at this 7-point buck from about 125 yards away this morning and took a patient, first shot…. He weighed 175 pounds.”
