Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge

South Carolina’s Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge is managed with a 6-point buck minimum.

Cherokee Run Hunting Lodge is in Chesterfield County, S.C., near the town of Chesterfield, in a triangle bounded by I-95, I-77 and I-85. The lodge encompasses almost 3,500 acres on 15 different properties across the county. Most are in the Great Pee Dee River basin, none on the river but many on creeks that feed it. Some properties are mixture of pine plantations and hardwood forests that border swamps.

Cherokee Run is managed with a 6-point buck minimum, and hunting is from permanent elevated stands. A two-week archery season runs from Aug. 15-31, with gun season opening Sept. 1 and running through Jan. 1. Antlerless deer can be taken any time the season is open, with the appropriate tags. Cherokee Run allows one deer per day and one antlerless deer per hunt.

Cherokee Run (www.eatsleephunt.com) also offers boar and turkey hunts.
