While hunting with her husband Gaston, Jenny Franklin killed her first gobbler of the 2024 season on April 1. On this windy opening day, not a gobble was heard. To Jenny’s surprise, a flock of turkeys was roosted right above them. What a heart-pounding time, hearing them fly down from so close! The gobbler had double beards and 1 1/4-inch spurs.
