Kids 12 and under can fish free at S.C. Forestry Commission center

The annual youth fishing rodeo at Piedmont Forestry Center near Tamassee in Oconee County will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The free day of fun and fishing is for youth 12 years and younger at the S.C. Forestry Commission’s Piedmont Forestry Center at 151 Piedmont Nursery Rd., Tamassee. Participants should pre-register at: www.dnr.sc.gov/aquaticed/rodeos or by calling (803) 737-8483. Participants should also bring their own fishing equipment and bait.
Free refreshments will be offered at the May 16 youth fishing rodeo. Adults will not be allowed to fish, only youth. Fishing will take place from 9-11:30 a.m. and refreshments will be available from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

The Piedmont Forestry Center is a former S.C. Forestry Commission forest tree nursery located in the Cheohee Valley in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
