How would you like to get some experience and practical knowledge while fishing, kayaking, shooting a bow, or an air rifle? How about checking out activity stations like Game Species, Talking Turkey, Backyard Bass, Birding Basics, and Sea Turtles? You can do all that on March 30 during the NCWRC’s free Outdoors Day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What makes this Outdoors Day even better is that it’s being held at the beautiful Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education in Corolla in Currituck County.

Rangers and other staff will lead participants on the tours and programs.

The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education is an informative, educational, and entertaining collection of exhibits and programs that give insight into coastal North Carolina’s wildlife and their habitats. It also gives background information on the natural history and cultural heritage of this part of the state.

An award-winning documentary is shown daily, and other special events are scheduled throughout the year. Best of all, admission is free, and so are the educational programs offered at the center.

While visiting the center for Outdoors Day, why not stop by the Currituck Beach Lighthouse next door?
