Big trout weighed 10+ pounds
Tyler Wike of Swain County, NC was fishing the Nantahala River on April 24, 2024 when he caught a huge brown trout. The fish was 27.5 inches long and weighed 10.4 pounds.
“It was the fight of a lifetime,” said Wike. “I fought him for 30 minutes all over the river. Upstream, downstream. Plus the kicker: I caught it on a Zebco 33 rod-and-reel combo with 10 pound test line.”
