Keep leaders tangle-free

A section of a child’s swimming pool ‘noodle’ is a great tool for keeping pre-rigged surf leaders from tangling and ready for use.

Surf-fishing guide Walter White pre-rigs his live-bait leaders for surf fishing. These leaders are used when red drum are likely to bite and are rigged with circle hooks.

The leaders consist of a swivel, monofilament leader and a hook. They are all made the same length so they fit neatly into the center of a child’s water noodle. The hooks are imbedded in the outer edge and the swivels and leaders hide inside, where they won’t foul each other or other items of fishing tackle. The foam also keeps salt from rusting the hook points.
