Limit will be one flounder per day

The NCDEQ’s Division of Marine Fisheries has announced the North Carolina 2025 recreational flounder season will open Sept. 1 and run through Sept 14.

The daily creel limit will be one fish per person, per day with a minimum size of 15 inches total length.

The same regulations and dates will apply for joint and inland waters, said the NCWRC.

During the recreational season, the harvest of flounder with a recreational commercial gear license will be prohibited.

North Carolina’s 2025 commercial flounder season will be announced in the coming weeks.
