This brook trout was caught at the South Mountain State Park in Burke County, N.C. on March 5, 2022 using a 7-foot Mitchell ultralight rod and a Mitchell Avocet micro reel spooled with 2-pound mono line and a chartreuse Trout Magnet. I fought the fish for about 15 min, it was netted and released. The weight was about 4 pounds. This was an awesome day of catching and releasing a total of more than 60 fish. The park offers miles of stream fishing and is stocked with brook trout, rainbows and browns.
