Eleven-year-old Gavin Hightower made the most of his spring break, landing several trout on the Watauga River from April 13-16, 2023. His largest was on the last morning, a rainbow about 24 inches long. Gavin learned to fly fish about a year ago and began tying his own flies. All the trout he caught this trip were on his flies!
