Marty Robinson finishes 3rd in Bassmaster Elite Series tournament

Marty Robinson of Lyman finished 3rd in the St. John's River Bassmaster Elite Series event.

Davy Hite also finishes in top 10

Marty Robinson’s final weight for all five days of the Bassmaster Elite Series event on the St. John’s River over the weekend was big enough that it could have won many Elite Series events, but the Lyman angler’s 76-5 landed him in third place after an incredible showing by veteran angler Rick Clunn, whose incredible 31-7 on day three put him in position to win with a total weight of 81-15.

Greg Hackney of Louisiana also bested Robinson by a little over a pound to take second with 77-15.

Davy Hite of Ninety Six also had a strong tournament, finishing 10th with 62-11. Hite had a rough day four, bringing only 7-14 to the scales, the lowest weight for a five-fish limit among the top dozen anglers.

Robinson and Hite, as well as Casey Ashley of Donalds, Jason Williamson of Wagener, Britt Myers of Lake Wylie, and Andy Montgomery of Blacksburg are all looking forward to being back in the Palmetto State for the next Elite Series event, the Huk Performance Fishing event at Winyah Bay in Georgetown, which takes place April 7-10.
