Use a s-l-o-w approach this month

Describing the kind of bass fishing at most North Carolina lakes during February is fairly easy and can be done with one word — slow.

Early in the month, when we have some of our coldest weather of the year, it’s just downright tough to do much, unless your home lake has a warm-water discharge from a power plant.

Late in the month, however, “slow” describes the way you have to fish to catch bass. Think s-l-o-w.

Most of the month can be tough, but by the end, you might be able to find some pretty good fishing.
