Ned rig fishing with pro angler Brian Latimer

The Ned rig is easy to rig, easy to fish

If you spend any time at all fishing for bass, you’ve more than likely heard of the Ned rig in the last few years. The main components of this rig include a mushroom-shaped jighead and a small soft plastic lure. This style of jighead makes the bait stand straight up.

Even though these lures are relatively small, they are known for catching big bass. Many anglers who are put off by finesse style fishing quickly change their tune once they try one of these rigs.

Pro bass angler Brian Latimer shows us his favorite way to rig these lures and talks about the technique he uses to attract bites. While many different companies make Ned rig lures, Z-Man is one of the most widely known. Latimer is using a Z-Man TicklerZ on a 1/6-ounce Z-Man jighead. And he shows that catching big bass is not a problem with these small lures.
