They killed the gobblers on North Carolina’s opening day

Twelve-year-old Lilly Thrift and her dad David Thrift of Winnabow, N.C. doubled up with two fine gobblers on April 9, 2022 during a hunt in Brunswick County.

Lilly’s bird sported a 10-inch beard, 1 1/8-inch long spurs and weighed a whopping 23 pounds. David’s gobbler had a 9-inch beard, 1-inch spurs and weighed 19 pounds.

“It was a great way to start the season with a daddy/daughter double!” said David.
