Nantahala National Forest Game Lands turkey

gobbler

I went and hunted on the Nantahala National Forest Game Lands near Western Carolina University where I am an alumnus. My brother, Landon Speer and friend, Shawn Sharpe went along with me. After putting in the miles hiking up in the mountains, we finally bagged our first bird on public game lands. Shawn Sharpe was the one who made the shot and was able to tag this beautiful 9-inch bearded tom. The tom first gobbled around 10:30 and we killed him around lunch time.
