Fox Squirrel taken by Spencer Claiborne “still hunting”. on November 9th at the Sandhills Gameland. We left at around 3:45 that morning to set up over a bottom before sunrise. Was taken around 7:30 that morning after being spotting stirring around the top of the tree.

At around 10 that morning Will found a bunch of chewed pine cones at the base of a tree and sat down to wait. Shortly after a Fox Squirrel came running towards the area and both spotted each other at about the same time. The squirrel jumped to the top of a burned out stump and was taken out. Immediately after picking up the first squirrel another black one ran out about 50 yards ahead where I took the shot.

After sitting down for about half an hour a squirrel call was used for this one with good success! The Fox Squirrel came in running and barking and once climbing a tree to see the source of the call was taken out! All in all 5 Fox Squirrels were spotted with 4 being taken that day!
