I had gotten trail cam pictures of this buck for three mornings in a row and I had not been able to get in the stand because of other obligations. My wife told me to get in the stand early on the 23rd. I got to my ladder stand before sunrise and quietly waited. I was hunting overlooking a split trail. About 7:15 am I noticed movement down the left trail and eased my binoculars up. My 8pt was tending a doe. I was able to shoot him at 70 yards with my 7mm mag Browning x-bolt. Mr 8 ran about 25 yards and collapsed. The doe didn’t move. I was elated that I had harvested this mature buck on our family farm. All the thanks and praise goes to God.
