My name is Whitney Henderson and I live in Williamsburg County. I hadn’t gotten out to hunt all week and decided Saturday, November 18th was my day. I sat in a ladder stand in a row of pines, took my Browning 270. It was about 5:40pm and I had seen a handful of does and a couple of spikes. I had already blown a grunt call a few moments before. I scanned my surroundings with my binoculars, didn’t see anything. As I lowered them, I saw a buck walking behind a pine about 100 yards or less. He was on the move and immediately started walking in the opposite direction. I quickly raised my rifle and took my shot as he was turned almost directly away from me. I heard the bullet hit, he took off and fell not too far from where I’d shot him! I had never seen this 8 point buck on camera, but sure glad he decided to walk my way!
