I was hunting on the evening of November 15th about 30 yards off of bedding area on my family’s farm in open hardwoods. Wind was blowing right in my face as I looked into trails coming off of the bedding thicket.I got set up a little later than I would have liked to at about 3:30pm. Didn’t see a single deer until about 5:00pm. When I heard a grunt and sudden movement from my left. When I looked up there was a doe in front of me at 15 yards looking back into the thick stuff and then he stepped out. She walked from left to right and then he came in to catch up with her. I couldn’t get him to stop where I wanted to so I rushed the first shot with my bow and it deflected off a small limb I couldn’t see. He didn’t know what happened so he walked about 10 more yards while I knocked another arrow and shot him at about 30 yards. He ran back into bedding and crashed about 40 yards from impact.
