Nichole Bradley’s lowcountry 8-point buck

8-point buck

8-point buck weighed 145 pounds

Nichole Bradley of Beaufort, S.C. killed a Beaufort County 8-point buck in velvet on Aug. 15. It’s a deer she’d been watching for 2 years.

Bradley shot the buck from 40 yards away with a Mossberg .270. She was sitting in a ground blind overlooking an open field when the buck offered her a shot around 8:15 p.m. The deer ran about 10 yards, then dropped.

“I’ve been watching this buck grow for at least 2 years. I decided I would give him one day and one shot only. If I didn’t see him on opening day (Aug. 15) or made a bad shot, he would walk. Obviously, I made a great shot,” she said.
