Nathan Monk drops Rockingham County 10-point

10-point10-point buck showed up on Opening Day

Nathan Monk of Lexington, NC killed a 10-point Rockingham County buck on Sept. 7, 2024. He shot the buck with a Ravin crossbow from 18 yards away. Monk was hunting from a ladder stand when the buck stepped out to eat from a food plot.

The hunter had a history with this buck dating back 2 years. He shares his story of the hunt here:

“It’s nice when all your hard work pays off. I have been helping manage this farm for the habitat and to get the age class of deer for 5 years now. Passing bucks for the first 3 years. All summer we have been running cameras over mineral sites getting To know what deer are in the area. We planted a food plot in a grown up pasture backing up to hardwoods and a bean field knowing this buck would hit the plot before the bean field. Opening day he stepped out at 18 yards.”–Nathan Monk
