Mason Wilkerson’s big buck

8 year old Mason Wilkerson killed this 9pt on Oct 1 2023 while black powder hunting with his dad in johnston county nc on a family farm. We had multiple trail camera pictures of this buck in daylight and at night and it all came together on the afternoon of Oct 1 when the big buck stepped out on the corn pile down a shooting lane at 100 yards. After missing a smaller buck the weekend before on youth day he was determined he wasn’t missing again. We got situated in the box stand we were hunting out off and the buck presented a shot and Mason was able to drop him in his tracks on the corn pile. Adding to the excitement we were able to get it all on video. Definitely one hunt I’ll never forget as his dad.
