8 year-old Luke Deal, a Cabarrus County resident, has been hunting with his pawpaw (Dennis Cook) and dad (Jeff Deal) since he could walk. Last season he successfully killed his first buck on his own with a rifle. This year, he’s been practicing with his crossbow and refused to hunt with anything else until he bagged a deer with it. Late one afternoon in Mecklenburg County, Luke got his chance, making a perfect shot on this nice 8-point buck from 15 yards away. All of your patience and practice paid off. Great Job Luke! Keep up your excitement and love for the outdoors.
