Morning
Man what a morning! I passed this buck up on September 14th. On that day my dad texted me early that morning and he said there was going to be a big buck come my way because it was my step mom Kathleen’s birthday. She passed away earlier this year 😕. I regretted every minute after passing him because I had never taken a deer with a compound bow and that was a sign. On the morning of September 24th, I watched several deer eating and one caught wind of me and they took off. As I sat in the blind, I prayed that Kathleen would send that buck back my way because I had not had him on camera in 6 days. Literally 5 minutes later he came walked down the ridge straight to me. I knew I had to take him this time! My shot was a little high and back but I knew I hit him hard. The arrow did not pass through but I found it 50 yds away. It looked like I caught liver and stomach by the arrow so I backed out after 150 yds of tracking. After waiting 6 hrs, I contacted Jeff with Low To Ground Deer Recovery and his dog Cooper made this buck a quick recovery. Waiting on recovering a deer is nerve racking! Thank you to God and Kathleen for giving me a second chance! I know she is looking after all of us every day 🙏🏻. This buck was really special to me ❤️
