Indian summer birthday buck

Courtney Joyner of Camden, SC battled unseasonably warm weather and an unfavorable moon phase to bag a nice 8-point buck in Kershaw County on Nov. 7, her birthday.

It was the second year in a row she’s killed a buck on her birthday, which she’s decided to make a yearly ritual.

“It was 85 degrees and a full moon, so I was certain I wouldn’t see anything. As soon as I sat down in the stand, this guy walked out and I knew he was meant just for me,” she said.

“I’m making it a tradition to go every birthday. This is my second year in a row I’ve got one on my birthday.”
