8-point swamp buck
I killed this heavy 8-point on October 4, 2022 with my new CVA Optima V2 muzzle loader on game land in Tyrrell County NC.
I was spot and stalking a doe when this guy came out to push her down the road checking to see if she was in heat.
They both disappeared into the cane making their way into the swamp before I could get a shot and my heart sank. Instinctively I progressed toward where they had gone in off the road in hopes to catch them moving through the swamp when out of nowhere this buck steps right back out in the road in front of me at about 60 yards. The 50 cal. Hornady SST low drag sabots put it on him!
