9-point buck was a fighter
Twelve-year-old Dalton DuBose from Bluffton, SC took this mature 9-point on Good Hope Plantation in Jasper County, SC on Oct. 22, 2023. Game camera pics from several weeks before the hunt showed the buck with fully intact antlers. Subsequent pictures showed points and the left brow tine being broken during sparring between Oct. 10 and 16.
The buck had been caught on camera at three different stand locations on the property, all a good distance away from one other. When the buck slipped out on the evening of Oct. 22, we knew it was a good one, but did not realize it was the 9-point we’d been seeing on camera. Dalton made the shot with his 350 Legend. After tracking and finding the buck, he realized it was the same old 9-point we’d been chasing.
